Chimera ARC SE

  • competitor of d-cache and DPM

  • no chances

  • could give a try as an alternative for ARC_SE

  • not in production yet

  • claimed to be ARC0 compatible but several modules could relay on ARC1

Security and SW lifecycle

  • NDGF sw lifecycle

  • reinforce collaboration influencing the development

  • be involved in dev to influence more the features one need

Earth Science SSC

Envirogrid

Compchem Activities

  • seems lot of use cases to be ported

Helthgrid SSC

  • SSC have to take up 1st line

  • 1st line deals with ALL problems. (SSC)

  • 2nd line deals with ALL problems 1st line cannot deal with. (EGI)

  • Not clear ideas on how support will be organized

HEP SSC

  • ROSCOE will be the umbrella as well as catch all for all services/activities that could be linked together from different SSCs.

  • HEP as 180PM for operation = 15FTEs

  • HEP will continue operational and certification and integration effort funded in SSC.

Overall SSC discussion

  • 25M total of EC contribution

  • Most likely EGI project will be stretched from 3 to 4 years with same total from EU funds (still has to be seen whether this affects also SSCs)

  • SSCs will have to adapt to this in case this will affect them.

  • New SSC emerged:

    • Scientific Gateway proposal as separate SSC

    • Application porting SSC

    • Training and Dissemination SSC - ~ 13FTEs

  • Many of them have been criticized as they aimed to cover most of the SSC core activities

  • Contact Scientific Gateway SSC explaining our position in CH as enabler for Chemistry and LifeScience workflows (foresee 24 - 36 PM over 4 years -> 0.5 - 0.75 FTEs )

  • Contact Sandro Fiore and Giovanni Aloisio for portal they have realized in Envirogrid project

    • we could probably drop from Training and Porting from 36 to 24 over 4 year ( 0.5 FTE of which 50% funded by EU )

  • Training and dissemination in CCMST SSC: we have 9PM in it ( 3PM per 3 year -> 2PM per 4 year ) -> 0.25 FTEs or 0.2 FTEs

Feedback for GC3

  • GC3 needs to get closer to CCMST SSC contacts for a better writing of the proposal

  • We need to understand what will be centralized in terms of Scientific Gateway, Application Porting and Training and Dissemination.

  • We probably need to reduce our contribution and, probably, shrink it over 4 years in CCMST SSC

  • Application porting: we already reduced our effort in it ( 9PM )

  • Portal and workflows: 27PM ( 9PM per 3y ears -> 6.7PM over 4 years )
