EGI followup

  • EGI.eu will make a EU proposal for a 4 year period

  • CH has requested 3.2 FTE/year

  • EGI membership fee will progressively increase from 1M to 2M EUR over this 4 year period.

  • SBF will probably pay the entire membership fee

NGI International Tasks

  • for NGI international tasks (those where UZH/GC3 has requested 0.6 FTE/y) EU will contribute with only 33% of the total cost (90kEUR -> 1FTE)

    • 67% NGI 33% EU
  • Switzerland participates in InSPIRE as JRU with the institutions SWITCH, UZH and ETHZ as partners. (To Christoph Grab: Is ETHZ ok for CHIPP?).

    • SWITCH feels that this is a better setup than subcontracting.

    • MoU among partners will be enough for repartition of tasks and funds

  • Switch requires quick feedback from partners for this option

NGI National Tasks (SBF funds)

  • We should also start thinking what the manpower effort of the national tasks as well as their distribution among the institutions are (we made a start with the spreadsheet EGI_natinoal_CH.xls).

  • 0.5 FTEs for national representation

    • How should the 0.5 FTE be distributed across the participating institution?

    • Proposal: some of this money should be specifically dedicated to prepare a long term plan beyond 2012.

  • And the same question for the technical national tasks (1 FTE)

    • There is less urgency defining these national tasks than the international one (which are coupled to the InSPIRE proposal).

    • However, better to specify them before the end of the year.
