EGI followup
EGI.eu will make a EU proposal for a 4 year period
CH has requested 3.2 FTE/year
EGI membership fee will progressively increase from 1M to 2M EUR over this 4 year period.
SBF will probably pay the entire membership fee
NGI International Tasks
for NGI international tasks (those where UZH/GC3 has requested 0.6 FTE/y) EU will contribute with only 33% of the total cost (90kEUR -> 1FTE)
- 67% NGI 33% EU
Switzerland participates in InSPIRE as JRU with the institutions SWITCH, UZH and ETHZ as partners. (To Christoph Grab: Is ETHZ ok for CHIPP?).
SWITCH feels that this is a better setup than subcontracting.
MoU among partners will be enough for repartition of tasks and funds
Switch requires quick feedback from partners for this option
NGI National Tasks (SBF funds)
We should also start thinking what the manpower effort of the national tasks as well as their distribution among the institutions are (we made a start with the spreadsheet EGI_natinoal_CH.xls).
0.5 FTEs for national representation
How should the 0.5 FTE be distributed across the participating institution?
Proposal: some of this money should be specifically dedicated to prepare a long term plan beyond 2012.
And the same question for the technical national tasks (1 FTE)
There is less urgency defining these national tasks than the international one (which are coupled to the InSPIRE proposal).
However, better to specify them before the end of the year.
